Mangalore, Jul 5: Reportedly, Maria Susairaj, who was released from jail on Saturday July 3, decided to take road route to reach Mangalore to avoid media glare. Apparently, she cancelled her flight ticket and decided to choose road travel instead, to avoid the paparazzi and the activists of Maharashtra Navanirman Sena, who have been hounding her since the moment she was released from jail.
Sources said that Maria’s family sold their property in Mysore. Her father, a reputed building contractor with a number of landmark projects under his belt, decided to leave Mysore after his daughter became a household name for wrong reasons about three years back. The family of Maria had led a peaceful life in the city of palaces for decades. Their peace was shattered by a gruesome incident in which Maria Susairaj, who was determined to rise to fame through small and big screen, was involved.
There are reports that Maria faces threat to her life in Mumbai. She is said to have decided to leave the metro under advice from close ones. She also appears to have been warned by her legal counsellors to keep her lips sealed till the things settle down. She needs to exercise restraint on her movements and utterances in view of the fact that the family of Neeraj Grover has laid bare its decision to go on appeal against the verdict, as they feel that Maria has been let off lightly.
While sources in Mumbai confirmed that Maria had left the city for Mangalore and was scheduled to arrive in Mangalore on Karnataka coast on Monday morning, there is no specific information about her reaching here as yet. For the present, it appears, both Maria and her close ones have decided that remaining secluded is the best option for her at present.
