Mangaluru: St Aloysius College offers PG diploma in Konkani programme

Mangaluru, Apr 13: The Institute of Konkani, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), is offering 2-year postgraduate diploma in Konkani (distance education) programme since 1994. Applications are now being accepted for the above course for the academic year 2023-24 in the institute of Konkani.

The 25th batch of the above course will be commencing from May 2023 onwards. The programme is open to those who have passed the pre-university examination and above.

 

The details of the course are as follows:

In the first year, the course covers Konkani history, literature, theatre, poetry and journalism. The second year covers Konkani folklore, grammar, Konkani in digital media and NLP. At the end of the course, students have to submit a dissertation on the topics related to the history of Konkani/Konkani literature/Konkani culture/Konkani drama/Konkani journalism, etc.

The internal examinations will be held every two months. Final open book examinations will be conducted at the end of each academic year i.e., in the month of March/April.

There will be a total of five days contact programme over the course of two years. Guidance will be given by the experts for preparation of dissertation during the contact programme.

The notes for the subjects will be available in both Devanagari and Kannada scripts.

The total course fee is Rs 4,200 for two years (including GST). Scholarships are available for deserving students. Each student will also receive books worth Rs 2000 as gift.
