Kasargod: Rs 4.22 lac Cash Stolen in Broad Daylight

Kasargod, Jul 2: Unknown thieves entered a house in Malankodu, Hosadurg, and took away Rs 4.22 lac placed inside an almirah, in broad daylight on Thursday June 30.

The house the thieves targetted, belongs to retired judge of the High Court, Justice A P Mohan Kumar. Mohan Kumar lives in Bangalore, and his niece, Priya, and her children live here. Bindu, a relative of Priya, had raised loan on Thursday from a bank in Mavungal. She arrived at the house of Priya in an auto rickshaw, and after placing money inside the almirah, Priya and Bindu went to Hosadurg town.

When they came back, she saw the door of the kitchen wide open. On checking the almirah, they found that the cash they had placed there before leaving home had gone missing. The thieves however, did not touch the jewellery kept in the said almirah.

Hosadurg circle inspector of police, A P Surendran, and his team visited the spot and took up investigation.
