Mangaluru: Carmel School holds training programme for scouts, guides, cubs, bulbuls

Mangaluru, Apr 11: A training programme was organized for the scouts, guides, cubs and bulbuls of Carmel School (CBSE) from March 28-30. The programme began with hoisting the guides' flag followed by a prayer service. Rohith S Rao, the assistant district commissioner of Bharath Scouts and Guides, Dakshina Kannada district was the resource person.

Sr Sarika, the principal, Sr Preena the vice principal, Sr Violette, the administrator and Sr Shanthi Laveena were present.

Rohith S Rao motivated the scouts and guides by emphasizing the importance of scouts and guides in facing challenges and developing their overall personality. 

Training sessions on compass, knots and lashing were conducted to scouts and guides. Participants were introduced to the concept of compass. Importance of compass, knots and lashing were highlighted. Participants were divided into 10 patrols.

Demonstration was done by the resource person and participants were facilitated to locate various angles and directions using compass during practical session.

Cubs and bulbul training session commenced with all faith prayer. Craft work, drawing, painting and BP six exercises were taught to the cubs and bulbuls by guide captains Lathika, Sachitha and cub master Mahesh.

Guide captain Ashwitha welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person. Guide captain Pavithra proposed the vote of thanks. Sahithya compered the programme.
