Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 30: During the last couple of days, rains have tapered off the coast. However, the meteorological department has predicted heavy rain and strong wind up to 45 to 55 knots per hour, during the next one day. It has also warned that the coast may receive up to 65 mm of rain during the next two days. The department, while asking the fishermen not to enter the sea, has also asked Chikmagalur, Kodagu and Shimoga district administrations to be in readiness to manage rain-related exigencies during the next two days, as it expects these districts also to get copious downpour.

Most areas in the coastal belt enjoyed sunny weather on Wednesday, except for occasional rains of less intensity. The average rainfall recorded across the coast was two cms.

The reservoirs in Almatti and Jog are getting good inflow, as catchment areas continue to get good rains.
