Beltangady, Jun 27: At a time as two political personalities from the state, Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa, and former Chief Minister, H D Kumaraswamy,  are trying to show the other in poor light, even by summoning divine powers to testify their honesty, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, clarified that solemn oath which vouches for the truthfulness of the statement made by one of the parties involved will not amount to divine affirmation. He was addressing a press conference held at the temple town on Sunday June 26.

He gave clarification about the position, when the journalists asked him as to whether the oath being undertaken in the temple by Kumaraswamy would be treated as divine affirmation as per temple tenets. He welcomed the decision of both the leaders to pray to the Lord for the all-round progress of the state and its citizens, and added that the queue of the devotees will be allowed the darshan of the Lord after Yeddyurappa pays obeisance at the temple on Monday.  Adding that 150 rooms have been earmarked to accommodate those accompanying the Chief Minister and the former Chief Minister, he requested the devotees to bear with this temporary inconvenience.

He clarified that a divine affirmation (Pramana) is treated as such only when both the sides give advance information to the temple about their motive, and the affirmation is conducted in a particular manner as per the temple traditions, and not otherwise. He refused to divulge details of the letter written to him by Kumaraswamy, saying that it was a private matter. He expressed the opinion that worldly affairs should be kept away while praying to the Lord, and that politics should never be mixed with religion.

About 20 MLAs are expected to accompany Yeddyurappa during his visit to Dharmasthala today. Ministers, Renukacharya, Umesh Katti, Murugesh Nirani, Narayanaswamy, Bachche Gowda, and MLAs, C P Yogeshwar, Sampangi, Anand Asnotikar and a number of others will come to Dharmasthala. Kumaraswamy will also be accompanied by about 20 legislators including H D Revanna, Bandeppa Kashempur, Srinivas Gubbi, Balakrishna Magadi and others.

Kumaraswamy has already declared that he will launch his fresh battle against the Chief Minister from Dharmasthala, by placing before the masses the wrongdoings of Yeddyurappa threadbare. He said that his public meeting today at Ujire will be a forum to make public a number of scams and corrupt activities of the BJP government.

    i feel it is not good take oath in temple and play with sentiment of people in the name of religion, everybody knows that one or otherway everybody is involved in corruption, so please do avoid this kind of thing in the name of religion and hurt the feelings of people.

    The Temple authority is strong enough and should not allow them to do that. let us check there properties all of sudden coming in power these persons got rich from where this money came? they got number of partnership without investing a single money why these company give them share? why this favour? why not common person get benefited only person in power?.

    So please avoid all those unwanted activities and do there duty with full honest. If all the person working in Government and Private Sector Work with honest then india will no more poor and become single superpower we have knowledge resources everything overall we are the superpower no country in this world have this all things. think think think and start to do 1 good and honest deed in a day which will make huge change in the system. Lets start today and do something in spite of telling other or system.

    CM should not have mixed sludgefest with HDK at Dharmasthala. In the divine traditions and according to the folklore(told by my mother), this place is so highly revered that people used to take the name on the lips of 'dharmasthala' itself very carefully cos of very high respect and the Gods fear(they used to refer this place as 'hod-kade'). Here we have folks these days who involve this powerful god so casually. Shame.
