Manipal, March 30: The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) witnessed an auspicious honour where Dr Raghavendra U, associate professor and deputy registrar - Administration, MAHE, Manipal was awarded with the prestigious professor Satish Dhawan Young Engineer State Award in the field of Engineering Sciences, instituted by the Government of Karnataka at J N Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
The prestigious award was presented to him in the presence of Dr C N. Ashwath Narayan, honourable minister for Higher Education, Electronics, IT, BT , professor C N R Rao, S&T Government of Karnataka Bharat Ratna Awardee, A S Kiran Kumar (former chairman of ISRO), professor Govindan Rangarajan (director, IISc) and Dr E V Ramana Reddy (additional chief secretary).
Congratulating Dr Raghavendra on his achievement, Lt Gen (Dr.) M D Venkatesh, vice chancellor, MAHE said, “My heartiest congratulations to Dr Raghavendra for this great milestone .It is a matter of great pride for Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal that Dr Raghavendra is an eminent researcher in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Medical Image Analysis. who has made outstanding contributions to the field of Engineering Sciences. Recently he has been short-listed for the Researcher, as released by Stanford University USA. His persistence paid off and has added a feather in our cap.
Dr Raghavendra U has published more than 50 research articles in reputed journals and has a patent to his credit. He is currently guiding many research students and also set his research collaborations at various international levels. Recently, he has been short-listed as the world’s Top 2 Percentile Researcher, as released by Stanford University USA.
