Mangaluru, Mar 28: The Lourdes Central School kindergarten convocation, being one of the most memorable events in the little ones’ lives, was held on March 28, in Bejai Church Hall.
The little ones of KG 2, beaming in their graduation robes, marched down the aisle, along with their teachers and the dignitaries, as the parents who were seated in the hall, looked on proudly at their wards.
The esteemed chief guest for the event was Dr Meena J Pereira, dean of post graduate department of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, accompanied by the president Dr J B Saldanha, manager LCS and the principal Fr Robert D’Souza, vice principal Belita Mascarenhas and Fr Jason Pais. The programme commenced invoking the blessings of the almighty with the prayer songled by the children of KG 2 followed by a sweet note of welcome by the little ones.
The principal, Fr Robert D’Souza introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Dr Meena J Pereira was then felicitated on behalf of the school for her services in the field of education.
The chief guest, Meena J Pereira, addressing the gathering, emphasized on how to keep the little children away from the electronic gadgets and to build a healthy and positive relationship between parents and children. She also urged them to prepare their little ones for a formal and value based education.
Fr manager, addressed the parents and spoke to them about the importance of praying together and also about spending quality time with their childrenand instilling the right values in them when they are young. For children to become successful adults, he said that it is very important for parents to never lose the close bond that they develop with the children, especially in their growing years and to be the mirror for their little ones.
Sharing personal experiences among each other is a beautiful way of expressing emotional bond. On behalf of all the little graduates, Adhya Hegde, Kamya Bharath and Reuben Brendan Dias came forward to share their awesome experience during their kindergarten journey and thanked the management, teachers and the ancillary staff for all their encouragement and support. On behalf of the parents of the little ones, Merlita Shetty, Viola Pinto and Gowri Baliga expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the institution and the staff for helping their wards in shaping them for their future endeavours.
The little graduates were then honoured by Fr Manager, the principal and the chief guest with a memento and a certificate.
The little graduates then expressed their gratitude to one and all for making their day so special for them.
The KG I students entertained the gathering with a dance drama and also bid farewell to the little graduates. In response to this beautiful and touching performance and for all the events before this, the KG 2 students presented a 'thank you' song.
This beautiful and endearing programme was concluded with the national anthem.
