Mangalore, Jun 24: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel here on Friday June 24 refuted the allegations by Harish Kumar Beltangady that the MP had not utilized the  MP's fund granted by the centre.

Addressing presspersons, he said that he had contributed Rs 3.61 cr from the fund for the development works. He produced a letter (MPLADCR/40/2011-12/53414) wherein Deputy Commissioner Changappa Gowda had clarified that the information given by Harish to the media is false. The MP indeed has contributed his share for the development works through the aforesaid fund, DC states and adds that the MP has contributed Rs 2 cr for 2009-10 and Rs 1.6 cr for 2010-11.

It is also mentioned that the MP has submitted 52 development proposals against the contribution made. Among these 127 project works worth Rs 234.7 lac has been sanctioned of which 159.43 lac has been released. Most of the works have been completed, added DC.

Elaborating on the confusion created by Harish's statement, Kateel said that the details of the development works undertaken through contributions by the MP need to be updated on the website, which is maintained by the DC's office. However, the office could not upload the details due to technical failure. I have requested the concerned to rectify the technical failure and upload the details, he added.
