Udupi, Mar 25: The 13th Annual Day celebration of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal was held on March 24 at the institute premises.
Paramapoojya Shri Vidyashreesha Theertha Swamiji, Shri Vyasaraja Math, Sosale was present in the ceremony and in his blessings he said that resilience of human kind was evident during Covid times, which was the result of able leadership which instilled hope. He advised students to develop optimism and not to lose hope in difficult situations.
Paramapoojya Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, President of Shri Sode Vadiraja Math Education Trust (SSVMET), Udupi, presided over the function and in his presidential remark he said that discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments. It can bring out the valuable gem hidden inside everyone which will lead to success in life.
Justice K N Phaneendra, Upalokayukta, Karnataka was the chief guest and in his address, he said that value based education is where a teacher performs roles of both mother and father inculcating values in their students. He also urged present day youth to take resolutions to create a corruption free society.
Awards related scholarships and academic proficiency prizes instituted by various philanthropists, individuals and organizations were awarded to the recipients on the occasion. Sheshagiri Vaikunt Pai, department of mechanical engineering and Ranjani, department of computer science & engineering were awarded with best outgoing student awards. Faculty members who have completed PhD in recent years were felicitated.
P Srinivas Thantry, vice president of the SSVMET, Rathnakumar, Secretary of SSVMET, Sunder Madakshira, Sham Sunder, Jagdish Acharya, Governing Council members of the institute, Dr Thirumaleswara Bhat, principal SMVITM, Dr. Ganesh Aithal, vice principal of SMVITM and Shreya Nayak, general secretary of student c=council were present on the dais.
Ratnakumar, secretary, SSVMET welcomed the gathering. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institute presented the annual report of the academic year 2022-23 highlighting institute accomplishments and achievements of students and staff. Professors Dr Manjunatha S and Sandhya introduced the guests. Dean (Quality Assurance) Dr Sudarshan Rao K read out the list of scholarship and proficiency awards. Programme coordinator Dr Raviprabha K announced the recipients of Hayavadana Prashasti and best outgoing students. Ananth Mohan Mallya announced a list of faculty members who are awarded with PhD in the recent years. Sachin Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks. Shreya Udupa rendered the invocation. Aditi Nayak and Nidhi Patkar compered the programme.
