Bengaluru, Mar 24: Higher Education Minister and MLA of Malleswaram, Dr C N Ashwath Narayan on Friday launched 100 wi-fi hotspots developed in public places in his assembly constituency of Malleswaram to make the facility available to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Narayan said, considering the necessity of internet connection, wi-fi hotspot facility is being offered at parks, metro stations, bus stands, educational institutions, malls and other public places in collaboration with Act Fibernet Company and the public will be able to use the internet with 25 Mbps speed, free of cost for 45 minutes.
He said the company had earlier joined hands with the government during Covid management and vaccination. He also stated that the company has developed two parks in Malleswaram limits and adopted them.
Bala Malladi, CEO, Act Fibernet, Dr R L Deepak, BBMP West Zone Commissioner, DCP D Devaraj, Joint commissioner Lokanath and others were present.
Most modern PHC opened
Earlier, Dr Narayan launched the most modern and well equipped Primary Health Centre at Sankighatta in Magadi taluk.
The minister said the PHC is the first of its kind in the entire country with Virtual Smart Clinic facility.
The Dr C N Ashwath Narayan foundation in collaboration with RV Group of Educational Institutions and United Way Company and has all facilities to provide the best medical and healthcare facilities for rural people.
While the Rajiv Gandhi Health University has provided a grant of Rs 9.5 crore, the other three entities have contributed Rs 3 crore in the form of equipment and e-hospital facilities.
The minister was taken in a procession before the function. Local MLA Manjunath was present.
