Udupi, Mar 23: The Manipal Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre (MCCCC) of Kastutba Hospital, Manipal, Karnataka, has been designated as a centre of excellence in cancer supportive care by the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC). This prestigious recognition is a testament to MCCCC's unwavering commitment to providing exceptional cancer care to patients. This is the first designated Centre in Asia.
Dr H S Ballal, pro chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, handed over the certificate to Dr Naveen S Salins, associate dean- KMC, coordinator, Manipal Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre and professor & head of the department of Palliative Medicine and Supportive Care and said: "We are honored to receive this recognition from MASCC. It is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients. Our team is dedicated to advancing the science of supportive care in cancer and improving the quality of life for patients and their families."

On this occasion, vice chancellor of MAHE, Manipal Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh stated: "We are pleased to get this honour from MASCC.
