Mangaluru, Feb 25: Thirteenth Graduation Day of Shree Devi Institute of Technology, one of the premier and preferred institutes in Mangaluru, Karnataka for Engineering and Management was held on Saturday February 25. More than 300 students were conferred with bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 150 students were conferred master’s degree (MBA/ /MCA).
M Ranganath Bhat, honarary secretary, Canara Educational Institutions, Mangalore was the chief guest for the programme.
A Sadananda Shetty, chairman, Shree Devi Education Trust presided over the function. Nidhish S Shetty, vice chairman, Shree Devi Education Trust, Maina S Shetty, secretary, Shree Devi Education Trust and Priyanka N Shetty, trustee, Shree Devi Education Trust were the guest of honour.
Dr K E Prakash, principal & director, SDIT, HODs of various Departments and convener of graduation day proffesor Rashma Jain graced the occasion.
The programme began with invoking of blessings of God Almighty. Dr K E. Prakash, principal and director, SDIT welcomed the gathering and conveyed his happiness and blessings to the outgoing batch. The guests were introduced by prof Sushmitha S Shetty and prof. Prakrithi Bhandary. The guests felicitated VTU rank holders – Sahana Polampalli (4th Rank, Aeronautical Engineering) and Aparna Suresh (6th Rank, Civil Engineering). The outgoing batches of students were presented with graduation certificates from the guests and the graduation oath was led by Dr K E Prakash.
M Ranganath Bhat, addressed the gathering and appreciated the infrastructure and the campus environment. He also expressed his happiness to be part of the prestigious program. He said that getting a degree is not the end instead it is the beginning of life which leads to the commencement of one’s professional life. He said that to become successful in life the learning process should be continuous. A successful man is somebody who can lay a firm foundation by facing all the difficulties that the life will pose. By quoting that the “Good minds will create ideas but the great minds will create dreams”, the chief guest motivated the students, be ambitious in life and he also encouraged them to strive towards achieving their goals. He motivated the students, not to be discouraged by the failures but to address them positively to become successful in life. He said that it is important to have true friends in life as they are the one’s who will render their helping hands at the times of difficulties. Towards the end of his speech he reminded the students to express gratitude by visiting their Alma matter to share their achievements.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks rendered by the convener of the programme Prof Rashma Jain.
