Bantwal, Jun 11: Acting on a complaint, the policemen from the rural police station here, succeeded in tracing two married persons, who had deserted their spouses and run away to Hydeabad. Interestingly, both of them belong to different religions. They were brought back on Friday June 10.

Jayanti, a married woman from Kumdelu in Pudu village in the taluk, and Ronald Veigas, a married man from the same village, had gone missing some time back. Jayanti, a member of Pudu gram panchayat, had left home on May 30 along with young son, Abhilash, purportedly to pay obeisance at Kudupi temple. She did not come back. At the same time, Ronald Veigas also went missing. The wife of Ronald had orally complained in this connection, to the rural police here.

The policemen, who hit the trail of the couple, got information that they had gone to Hyderabad. A team of policemen went to Hyderabad, and brought back Jayanti, Ronald Veigas, and Jayanti’s child. During questioning, the policemen came to know that Ronald, who was well-versed with Hyderabad, having worked there in the past, had taken his paramour, Jayanti, and her son, Abhilash, to that city with the purpose of settling down there.

How does the doubt of religious conversion arise when both eloped out of their own free will. When in fact no one other than the two know the reson, how can one assume silly ideas and comment on religion. Only hope that the spouses of the eloped pair bear the pain and humiliation on the act of thier partners, forgive them and continue their journey as couples...

It is such a shame for one to desert their life partner and elope with someone else. One has to truly understand the value of marriage before committing such acts.

Mangalore Police, congratulations for your quick action. This is really very sad incident. Sometimes I do wonder what is happening in Mangalore society? Both couples have spoiled their families.
Wish both will realise their grave mistake and rejoin their family. It might be difficult for the husband to accept this whose wife has had eloped with another man. Shock treatment may change once character ane in this police team are quite efficient and effective.
