Mangaluru, Feb 13: Bajrang Dal vehemently opposed celebration of Valentine’s Day and appealed not to sell any items which provokes people to celebrate the day.
In a publication, Naveen Moodushedde, district convener of Bajrang Dal said, “The holy land of India has unique culture and tradition. Our celebrations have their own importance and they history of centuries. The western culture is challenging Indian customs and are trying to attract young generation towards them.
“The western culture is putting bad consequences on our tradition and culture. Valentine’s Day is a clear example of this. Illicit activities are carried out in the name of Valentine’s Day. So Valentine’s Day should not be celebrated. All the flower stalls and gift centres should not sell any items that will entice the youth to celebrate Valentine’s Day. In addition, no one should support such celebration,” he said.
