Udupi, Jun 9: The district superintendent of police (SP) has, through a release, requested people who have lost their money on account of financial fraud committed by M/s Guru Teak Investments (Mysore) Pvt Ltd, to file complaints with full details in the police stations nearest to their residences. He said that the department has received a number of complaints of fraud against the company.

Guru Teak had been collecting term deposits from the general public after getting the approval of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for its schemes. It also used to repay the amount due on the maturity dates of these deposits. However, in the recent past, a number of complaints from the people from all over the state have been received about the failure of the company to refund the maturity amounts of the deposits.

The SP said that the department has come to know that a number of people, who have been defrauded by the company, are yet to register their complaints with the police. The state government has also taken the issue of the company’s failure to honour its commitments, seriously. Therefore, he has urged those who have lost their money invested with the company, to file complaints with the nearest police stations.
