Mangalore, Jun 5: BJP activists in the city staged a demonstration in front of Town Hall here on Sunday June 5 to protest against Baba Ramdev's detention and lathicharge at the dharna site in New Delhi.
Led by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, deputy speaker Yogish Bhat, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Mayor Praveen, BJP leaders Shreekar Prabhu, Karnataka fisheries development corporation president Nitin Kumar among others, a number of activists shouted slogans against the UPA government in the city.
Speaking on the occasion Nalin Kumar said that by arresting Baba Ramdev, the UPA government has confirmed that it is involved in corruption. It’s a shame to the people of this nation that the UPA government considers fight against corruption as unlawful.
The police kept a close watch on the proceedings.
Earlier in the day, local leaders and members of Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajarang Dal together staged a demonstration. Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt, VHP leader Jagadeesh Shenava among other VHP and Bajarangadala activists took part.
