London, June 4 (IANS) Fabio Capello has urged the English team to beat Switzerland at the Wembley Saturday and end Swiss hopes of qualifying for next year's Euro 2012 finals.
The Sun reported that the win will be the best way for England to extract revenge from FIFA president Sepp Blatter. England's Football Association (FA) had asked the FIFA to postpone the elections, over charges of bribery, but the proposal was voted out in last week's FIFA Congress in Zurich.
"This is a dangerous game as Switzerland need to win. It is a really important match. I hope we play a good game in front of 90,000 - but the most vital thing is to win," Capello was quoted as saying by the daily.
FIFA had confirmed that Blatter will be at his home in Zurich today, almost certainly watching the Group G clash.
Former England star Tony Cottee also asked the English team to give Blatter a miserable evening.
"An England win will help get some revenge over Sepp Blatter. After everything he has done to England, if we beat Switzerland it will be a sweet moment for us - and the FA. It's been a right farce with Blatter," Cottee was quoted as saying by The Sun.
Switzerland boss Ottmar Hitzfeld says Blatter, whom the English FA refused to support, is a hero to the Swiss.
