Udupi: Students of GM School conduct cleanliness drive

Udupi, Jan 21: 'Swacch Udupi – Swacch GM' cleanliness drive was held in GM Vidyaniketan Public School as part of Vivekananda Jayanthi. The programme was organized in association with Harady gram panchayat and Swachh Bharat Sevadala Udupi.

B Prabhakar Shetty, president of Harady gram panchayat inaugurated the drive. Speaking on the occasion he said, “The cleanliness drive is organized as part of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. If we are healthy anything can be achieved. We can be healthy by keeping our surroundings clean."

Prakaschandra Shetty, president school management committee received the cleanliness pledge from students. On the occasion he said, “Teachings of Vivekananda are an inspiration for us. If we keep our surroundings clean the concept of Swacch Bharath will be achieved. Let us dedicate ourselves to the nation."

Brahmachari KN, principal, explained about the cleanliness drive.

Two teams of students cleaned the surroundings of Harady and Uppinakote areas and spread awareness about cleanliness to the general public.

Pranav Shetty, principal GM Global School Prashanth Kumar, school counselor teachers and students participated in the programme.
