Mangalore, May 24: Civic Tiger, the Red Van introduced by Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) to clear encroachments on footpaths and roads, triggered its action yet again in the city on Tuesday May 24.

The truck and the personnel on it cleared encroachments on footpath and roads near Central Market. Mainly vegetable and fruits vendors posing problems for pedestrians walking through the footpath were evacuated. Though this operation was started from state bank terminal area, as earlier alleged the MCC sources itself leaked the matter to some vendors who turned wise and did not keep any items outside their shops.

Officers and police in three vans cleared the footpath at the central market area and ensured hassle-free traffic. A revenue inspector and health inspector from the city corporation guided the personnel on the eviction drive.

The Guru, Mangalore. In Dubai one need not require to open food stall or fruit stall on the foot path as every citizen in that Country who are dwelling here will have minimum 2 full meal per day which is not the case here DK, Karnataka.

If these vendors had better means to earn their living they would not have opted there as vendors on the footpath to earn their living. Those who comments against these vendors with an humanity, wish them in life, one should experience the same status, what these fruit vendors are experiencing and then only they will have understand them better. Easy to sit inside 4 walls and comment.

Never know these vendors and their children may one day become prosperous and those who have destructed them may bite the dust. Only fate and time will tell us.

Try to open a fruit stall or veg stall in footpaths of DUBAI, lets see what the govt of dubai will do???? Will they allow u to sell fruits stating that u r poor??
Footpaths are for people to walk so that they dont meet up with an accident or so, if these people sell all these things in footpaths where do the general public walk, instead these people should request for a shop in the market and they need to pay the rent.

Beacuse of other corruption & scams in the country, these street vendors cannot be excused, the law is the same for each citizen, even if theY didnt loot nations wealth there are not allowed to sell on the footpath.its causes so much trouble to the public.people walk on roads beacuse the foothpath is occupied by these vendors.Mr Bhandarkar you cant excuse these vendors beacuse other scams prevail in the country.if MCC allow thsese vendors without taking action they will keep on growing in numbers.will the public able to walk on the footpath.can we let them making bussiness on the streets beacuse of major scams in the country.regarding illegal buildings constituion of india allows any citizen to go and report it to the police or concerned authorities.only some will report it everyone wants to just compalin abt the situation.why you people are worried where the vegatables will go.to the officers house or to the trash.once it is under MCC possesion they can do watever they want.reading the comments above what you people want to let these street vendors do their bussiness on the streets and cause obstruction to the public and vehciles.yes there is so many scams and so much corruption.the trial for such cases going on.so lets support the MCC,they are doing the good job. This is my experience i was in mlore a month ago.footpath is occupied by these vendors.people walk on roads. whatif any accident occurs & if lives are lost.
