Mangalore, May 20: The district unit of BJP will launch a people’s movement in the city on Sunday May 22 against governor of Karnataka H R Bhardwaj for taking an ‘anti-Constitutional’ stand, informed district BJP president Padmanabh Kottari at a press conference here on Friday May 20. The people’s movement has been planned five different centers of the state.
On May 22, a massive protest will be held at Nehru Maidan, where chief minister Yeddyurappa will address a gathering of about 20,000 people, including party workers, he said.
The protest meet will stress on removing Bhardwaj from the post of governor for creating Constitutional predicament, he added.
The people’s movement has three agendas viz, to reject the report sent by the governor to the centre demanding dissolution of the BJP-led government and implementation of President’s rule, to recall Bhardwaj from his post and to grant permission to convene the assembly session, Kottari detailed.
Coming down heavily on Congress and JDS for creating political mess in the state by opposing the government elected by the majority people, Kottari said people are well aware of the entire scenario taking place in state and will teach a lesson to those who are creating problems.
On the same day the public gathering will condole the death of Mangalore air crash victims.
Deputy speaker Yogish Bhat, Prathap Simha Nayak, Shreekar Prabhu, Nithin Kumar, Rajgopal Rai were present.
