Ajman: Gulf Medical University Hosts ‘Heroes of Healthcare' Lecture

Ajman, May 15: Gulf Medical University, Ajman as part of the 'Heroes of Healthcare' lecture series hosted a special talk by Padma Shri Dr Azad Moopen, chairman-DM Healthcare, UAE and MIMS, India.

Dr Moopen in his talk on ‘Recent Trends in Healthcare’ called upon the students to master the ‘art of medicine’ alongwith the essentials of ‘Science of medicine’ that is taught during their studies. While explaining, he categorically differentiated between the two terms. In his inspiring speech Dr Moopen emphasized on the importance of the medical profession and enumerated many examples of great physicians who have reached to the pinnacle of success in their profession.

"It is vitally important to treat a patient with the disease instead of the disease alone," he added. Apart from the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences in Kerala, India Dr Moopen heads a chain of medical establishments under the banner ‘Aster and Medicare’ spanning in entire GCC countries.

The founder president of Gulf Medical University, Ajman Thumbay Moideen presented a special memento - Heroes of Healthcare Award to Dr Moopen in recognition of his invaluable contributions to healthcare and medicine throughout the GCC and India. While congratulating Moideen for Gulf Medical University possessing one of the best infrastructure in the middle east Dr Moopen said that he was highly impressed with the tremendous progress made by GMU in a short span of 13 years. While interacting with the students he emphasized, “Adaptability is very important to achieve success in life”

‘Heroes of Healthcare’ is an International Lecture Series organized by the Gulf Medical University, Ajman wherein internationally renowned experts are invited to deliver talks and interact with the faculty and students at the University.

Dr Peter K.Morley, medical director-International, Bumrungrad International, Bangkok, Thailand and Dr Hermann Reichenspurner, MD, PhD, professor and chairman, Center for Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, University of Hamburg, Germany will be visiting Gulf Medical University to deliver the special lectures on May 29 and June 26, respectively.
