Mangalore: Three Months Gone - Taluk Sees No Appointment of Tahsildar

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SB)

Mangalore, May 15: The post of tahsildar of the taluk has been lying vacant since past three months and the government seems to be in no hurry to make the new appointment.

At present, Muralidhar, tahsildar of Moodbidri has been discharging the responsibilities as the in-charge tahsildar of the taluk. Though Ravindra Nayak, the current Bantwal taluk tahsildar has been transferred to Mangalore on April 18 last, he has not been able to report here until now.

The appointment of the tahsildar for the taluk seems to be very urgent at this juncture as school and college admissions are on the anvil. It can be noted here that tahsildar's nod to provide caste certificate and income certificate among others to students is paramount and the process may lead to problems in the absence of tahsildar.
