Udupi: Passenger Falls Off Train, Dead

Udupi, May 12: A person travelling by Mangalore bound train from Mumbai, fell down near Perampalli Bridge near Manipal on Wednesday May 11 morning. He has been identified as Sadanand Moolya (40), a native of Sooda near Belman in Karkala taluk.

Moolya, working in Mumbai, had boarded the train in question on Tuesday. Reportedly, he did not get a seat to occupy, and hence was sitting by the side of the door of his compartment. When the train was moving near Perampalli Bridge, he fell down, probably after losing his balance.

He sustained critical injuries and died on the spot, policemen stated.
