Mangalore: Beary Literature, Cultural Meet at BC Road on May 15

Mangalore, May 12: Beary Literature and Cultural Meet will be held under the aegis of Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy at Hotel Srinivas Conference Hall, B C Road on Sunday May 15.

Saad Educational and Charitable Trust president Abdul Khader Denjipady will inaugurate the programme at 10.00 am. Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy president M B Abdul Rehman will preside. Bantwal town municipal member Gopal Suvarna, D.K district wakf committee former vice-president B H Khader will be the chief guests.

Later, taluk level beary songs, speech, short poem, quiz competitions will be held. A seminar on ‘Beary Women in Education Field’ will be organized for women. Mehendi competitions for women will be held for women in the evening. At multi-lingual poet meet to be held at 3 pm, Ibrahim Tannirbavi will preside, M P Basheer Ahmed, Basheer Kinya (Beary), Chandrashekar Pathoor (Kannada), Deepika Vitla (Tulu), Yashavantha D S (Konkani) and Sultan Goodinabali (Urdu) will participate.

The valedictory ceremony will be held at 4.00 pm, Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai will preside. Bantwal Town Municipal president Dinesh Bhandary, Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre president Thukaram Poojary, Bantwal Beary Sahithya Parishad president Abbas Ali Bolanthoor will be the chief guests.

‘Beary Movement’ leader P A Raheem, and social worker G M Mohammed Master Godinabali will be felicitated. Later cultural programmes like ‘Oppanepat’, Kolkali, Beary Janapada Pat, Beary Kawali, Beary Gajal will be organized from Thoofan Music World, informed registrar Umarabba in a press release.
