Mangalore: Palemar Inspects Works, Orders Maintenance of Storm Drains

Mangalore, May 11: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, visited various places within the city on Tuesday May 10 to inspect the condition of roads and drainage system. He asked the city corporation officials to take steps to ensure that storm drains and other drains are kept in proper condition in view of the fast approaching rainy season.

He asked the officials to complete the underground drainage works on Kodialguhu Road on a war footing, remove sand heaps, and allow smooth flow of traffic. The locals had appealed to the minister to save them from frequent artificial floods in the area during the monsoon months.

Chief executive engineer of the city corporation, Rajshekhar, chairman of standing committee of the city corporation on health, Yashwant Meenakalia, and local residents were present on the occasion.
