Mangalurean Adya Nayak shines as multilingual actress

Mangaluru, Oct 19: Adya Nayak, actress from Mangaluru, who has acted in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Konkani and Tulu films, is making a name for herself in Coastalwood.

She is the second daughter of Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru residents Balakrishna Nayak and M Shamala, has liked fashion designing since her childhood. She studied MCA and worked in modelling in the beginning. She also worked as a costume designer for a year and as a software engineer at IBM for another year. She got into acting as a film director gave her an opportunity to act. She is willing to act in films of any language if the script is good.

Adya who stays in Bengaluru, has appeared in several films, TV serials and advertisements. She will shine in coastalwood by acting as the leading lady in the upcoming Tulu film of journalist Ismael Moodushedde. She has acted in Kannada films Ratnagarba, Paddehuli, Ombathane Adbhutha, Damayanti, Notagara, Beega, Lanke, Tamil films Moondram, Arive, Kyala, Sketch and Malayalam serial titled Instagram. She has signed for three films in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. She will be acting in the next Kannada film of Seetarama Karanth. The audio and trailer of her Konkani film ‘Bayo’ will be released on October 30.

She initially did modelling for a jewellery brand organization. She later appeared in saree advertisements and then as a Swatch Bharath model. She obtained opportunities in national brand and international brand advertisements later. “Therefore, it was possible to obtain opportunities to act in films,” she said.
