Karwar: Two Commercial Tax Department Staff Die in Accident

Karwar, May 4: Two persons travelling in a Tata Sumo vehicle died on the spot, while another was seriously injured in an accident that occurred on national highway near Kiruvatti village, Yellapur on Tuesday May 3. After the vehicle hit a tanker coming from the opposite direction, the driver lost control over it. It then hit a roadside tree, killing two persons on the spot. The officials were returning after conducting visits connected with their work.

The deceased have been identified as assistant commissioner of vigilance in commercial tax department, Hubli, B L Hosamani, and Arun Hosamani, working as clerk in the same office. Driver of the vehicle, Ravi Karjagi, was seriously injured.  Karjagi was admitted into a hospital in Hubli for treatment.

Police officials visited the spot and took up investigation.
