Puttur: St Philomena PU College students wins first prize in state level chess tournament

Puttur, Oct 10: Manvith Kanajalu (I PCMB) of St Philomena PU College, Puttur brought laurels to the college by securing the first prize in the State Level Chess Tournament and is selected to the National Level Chess Tournament to be held in Assam. The tournament was organized by the Pre University Educational Board in collaboration with Jnanavikasa Vidya Sanga, Bidadi and Sri Basaveshwara Swamy Composite Pre University College, Bidadi, Ramanagar taluk and district on October 7 and 8 at Bidadi, Ramanagar in Bengaluru.

He is the proud son of Damodar Kanajalu and Rashmi P S. He is trained by Rajesh Mooliya and Elias Pinto, physical directors, St Philomena P U College, Puttur, Sathyaprasad Kote, Aravinda Shashtri and Stany G A.

The correspondent Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, the campus director, Fr Stany Pinto and the principal, Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta congratulated Manvith and wished him their best wishes.
