Mangalore, Apr 29: Intaglio, the information science association of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) held its first inter-collegiate technical fest "Innovision" on Thursday April 28.

The technical fest composed of many interesting and innovative events which were held throughout the day in the college premises. The chief guest for the function was Dr Sandeep J Nayak, principal, M V Shetty Institute of Technology, Moodbidri. Other dignitaries included Fr Valerian D’Souza, director, who presided over the ceremony, Fr Joseph Lobo, director designate, Dr Joseph Gonsalves, principal, SJEC and Fr Henry Mascarenhas, assistant director, SJEC.

The inaugural function began with the invocation of the divine which was led by the choir. Shreenath Acharya, HOD, ISE department, delivered the welcome address. Jovita Jasmine D’Souza, president of Intaglio briefed about the different events of the fest which were to be held for the day. This was followed by the lightening of the lamp by the chief guest along with other dignitaries which symbolized the official beginning of the fest.

The chief guest, Dr Sandeep J Nayak addressed the gathering wherein he talked about valuable ethics and the importance of planning in every step of life. He emphasized the need for effective time management in a student’s career. and enlightened the students with his message about 'Guru-Shishya' relationship.

Fr Valerian D’Souza in his presidential address voiced his appreciation for the organizers of the different events. Fr Joseph Lobo also addressed the gathering with his encouraging words. Fr Henry Mascarenhas too appreciated the commitment of the people involved in this fest to make it successful. Dr Joseph Gonsalves inspired the gathering with his words of appreciation.

Later, the certificates were handed over to the organizers and the event coordinators. The dignitaries were felicitated with momentoes.
