Mangaluru, Sep 29: St Ann’s Teacher Training Institute, a pioneering institution for Teacher Training held its inaugural programme of the new academic year and an investiture ceremony of the student cCabinet here at the college. The programme began with an invocation through a graceful prayer dance by the students followed by a traditional welcome.
Sr Marie Lucy A C, the joint secretary of the institution, being the chief guest of the day, inaugurated the new academic year by lighting lamp. While addressing the teacher trainees, sister spoke on the sacredness of the profession and their role as teachers in the life of every student they encounter in this noble profession. She also explained the four types of teachers – and finally invited student - teachers to be the great teachers who inspire. Addressing the cabinet members, sister encouraged them to consider responsibilities as an opportunity to build up leadership abilities for their future profession as teachers.
The inauguration was followed by investiture ceremony at which Sr Pramila A C, the principal of the college, administered the oath to the student cabinet. At the cultural programme, student – teachers exhibited their talents through dance, art, singing and drama. A Large number of students took part in it. This gave them a sense of joy and contentment to know their own gifts and talents. Shilpa and Prajna Rai compeered the programme as Sr Pramila A C the principal welcomed the gathering and Ayisha proposed vote of thanks. The programme ended with college anthem.
