Recipes - Mackerel Recheado Masala
Ingredients:
3-4 medium mackerels
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying
To grind:
5 red long chillies
½ tsp. cumin
4 flakes garlic
14 pepper corns
1 " cinnamon
8 cloves
2 seeds tamarind
Pinch of turmeric powder
2 tsp sugar
½ " piece palm/ coconut jaggery
4-5 tbsp. vinegar
Method:
Clean and slit mackerels from sides and set aside.
Grind all the masala ingredients into a thick paste adding vinegar. Add salt to the masala and apply it inside the pockets and all over the fish. Set aside for an hour.
Heat a pan with oil and shallow fry mackerels from both the sides on slow flame.
Serve with steamed rice and curry of your choice.
