Recipes - Prawns Dry (Gudgud)

Ingredients:

1 kg. Prawns
4 big onions (sliced)
1 " ginger (chopped)
4 green chillies (chopped)
½ pod garlic (chopped)
1 tsp. jeera (coarsely powdered)
1 tsp. pepper corns (coarsely powdered)
½ tsp. turmeric powder
2 tbsp. thick tamarind water ( 1 lime size tamarind soaked in water)
2 tbsp. oil
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves


Method:

1. Clean and devein the prawns, without removing the shell and the tail.
2. Heat oil in a pan, add onions and fry till pink
3. Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies and fry for few seconds.
4. Add the powdered masalas.
5. Add the prawns, add tamarind water, salt and mix well.
6. Cook on slow fire for 5 - 10 minutes.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
