Recipes - Tamarind Rice
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked rice (basmati)
2-3 tbsp. tamarind pulp
1 tsp. mustard
2 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. urad dal
1 tsp. channa dal
Few curry leaves
Pinch of hing/asafetida
2 tbsp. roasted pea nuts
¼ tsp. turmeric powder
4 long red chillies
Salt as per taste.
Method:
Heat oil, splutter mustard, add curry leaves along with urad and channa dal, hing, turmeric powder and tamarind pulp. Saute until light brown. Sprinkle little water if required. Add cooked rice and mix gently. Garnish with roasted pea nuts and coriander leaves.
