Recipes - Prawns / Shrimp Puli Munchi

Ingredients:
¼ kg or 1 cup shrimps (shelled and de veined)
5-6 long red chillies
½ tbsp. coriander
¼ tbsp. cumin/jeera
¼ tsp. ajwain
¼ tsp. fenugreek/ methi seeds
1 tbsp. grated coconut
1 small onion
2-3 flakes garlic
Small ball of tamarind
¼ tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. chilly paste
1 tsp. oil
Salt as per taste
Seasoning:
1 tbsp. oil
½ tsp. mustard
1 sprig curry leaves
1 small onion (sliced)
Method:
Clean the prawns and wash them well applying turmeric powder and drain well. Apply chilly paste and set aside. Later shallow fry them slightly.
Dry roast coriander, jeera, ajwain, methi and red chillies. Grind the roasted ingredients adding coconut, onion, garlic, tamarind and turmeric powder into a thick paste.
Heat a pan with oil. Splutter mustard, add curry leaves and onion. Saute until light pink. Add the masala paste and fry well. Add the fried prawns and bring to a boil.
Serve with rice and sambar of your choice.
