Recipes - Raw Jackfruit Erissery

Ingredients:
2 cups raw jackfruit bulbs
¼ cup thur dal
1 cup grated coconut
2 green chillies
1 tsp. cumin
¼ tsp. turmeric powder
Salt as per taste
Seasoning:
1 tbsp. coconut oil or ghee
½ tsp. mustard
2 sprig curry leaves
Method:
Wash and soak dal in water for half an hour. Clean and deseed the jackfruit bulbs and cut them into small pieces. Grind coconut and cumin into a fine paste. Cook dal in enough water, when half cooked add jackfruit pieces, turmeric powder, slit green chillies and salt. After a boil add masala and cook until done.
Heat oil or ghee, splutter mustard and brown curry leaves. Pour this seasoning over the curry. Serve hot with rice.
