Recipes - Masala Povva/Avalakki
Ingredients:
1 cups medium thick beaten rice
1 small capsicum
1 small carrot
2 tomatoes
1 onion
2 tbsp. ground nuts
3-4 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. mustard
1 tsp. coriander powder
1 tsp. saunf powder
2 tsp. rasam powder or 1 tsp. chilly powder
2 sprigs curry leaves
1 tbsp. coriander leaves
Salt as per taste.
Optional: Sugar, Freshly grated coconut.
Method:
Soak beaten rice in water for 5 minutes. Then strain and set aside. Sprinkle little salt.
Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard. Add curry leaves, ground nuts, chopped tomato, capsicum and carrot. Saute until soft. Add Saunf powder, rasam powder and coriander powder. Fry for 2 mts. Add salt. Lastly add soaked beaten rice and mix well. Serve hot garnishing with coriander leaves.
