Recipes - Beans –Whole Masoor Curry
Ingredients:
½ Kg beans
¼ Kg whole masoor
1 potato
1 tomato
1 onion
I magie cube ( optional )
Salt to taste
To grind:
½ grated coconut
4- 5 long red chillies
2-3 short red chillies
2 tbsp. coriander
¼ tsp. cumin
¼ tsp. turmeric
¼ tsp. methi seeds
1 onion
2 –3 garlic flakes
Seasoning:
2-3 crushed garlic flakes
Few curry leaves
½ tsp. mustard seeds
2 tbsp. oil.
Method:
Clean and soak masoor for about 3 – 4 hours. Cut beans into 1 ’’ pieces. Cook masoor and beans along with cubed tomato, potato and onion with little water and salt and keep aside.
Dry roast the ingredients of masala slightly and grind them coarsely. Add the masala into the cooked beans and bring to a boil. Add magie cube ( optional ) and adjust salt accordingly. Boil for about ten minutes and set aside.
Heat oil, splutter mustard , add crushed garlic and curry leaves. Fry till light brown and then pour over the beans curry. Keep covered.
Serve with steamed rice.
