Bantwal: Youth from Vittal Kidnapped for Ransom

Bantwal, Apr 21: It is gathered that a Kerala-based gang abducted a youth from Vittal, and then placed a demand for ransom amount of three lac rupees. The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday April 19.

Ravi Palike (26), son of Ramachandra from Annamoolevalike of Vittal Casba village, had gone to Vittal town to buy some items for home. When he reached the road crossing near Vittal, a Toyota vehicle bearing Kerala registration number approached him. A gang that came in the vehicle forcibly took him away in their vehicle.

The family members of Ravi, unaware that he was abducted, waited for long for his return. They even called several of his friends, inquiring his whereabouts. In the meantime, a call was made to the family, demanding for a ransom of three lac rupees. The callers threatened to kill Ravi if the information about the abduction was passed on to the policemen.

Ravi’s mother filed a complaint in Vittal station. She has suspected that a gang led by Niaz has abducted her son.
