Mangaluru, Sep 12: Several people got injured in the serial accident of five vehicles that occurred on the late night on Sunday September 11 at Kallapu near Thokottu on NH 66.
An Innova car that was moving from Thokottu to Mangaluru, suddenly took a left in a bid to overtake another vehicle. A Hyundai car loaded with woman and children, which was coming from behind applied sudden brakes to avoid colliding with the Innova. Meanwhile, the car made a full U-turn and collided with a moving scooter and a Swift car that was parked beside the road.
Scooter rider Kasargod resident Tarun got injured. Student of St Aloysius College Amrit, who was driving the Hyundai car that hit three vehicles also got injured. Women and children in car also received injuries.
Mangaluru south traffic police visited the spot and investigated further.
The Innova car which caused the collision of other four vehicles, escaped from the spot. The high speed driving of Innova and the car that had students in it is the cause of the accident according to eye witnesses.
