Udupi, Apr 19: “Karnataka has been ranked second in the nation as far as alleviation of poverty is concerned, because of BJP legislators who are role models for others. The party gets strengthened through building it from the booth level. Our party, which has pledged itself to the causes of development and upliftment of poor people, never harbours factionalism or dissidence,” announced Karnataka BJP president, K E Eshwarappa. The programme was organized under the aegis of Udupi rural BJP unit.
He was addressing a meeting of beneficiaries of various schemes, after inaugurating the MLA’s office at Brahmavar on Monday April 18. He said that the Congress has been bewildered at the achievement of the 30-month-old government, which has far exceeded Congress performance during the last 60 years. “Congress has no other way but to choose the path of malicious campaigning against the BJP,” he ridiculed.
Udupi-Chikmagalur MP, D V Sadanand Gowda, who was present at the programme, felt that a constituency progresses in all spheres, if its representative understands his responsibilities, makes use of opportunities, dreams of development, and is driven by political will. Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the state is full of people who have benefited out of various schemes formulated by the state government.
BJP district president, Udayakumar Shetty, MLA, Lalaji R Mendon, BJP Yuva Morcha president, Vilas Kumar, Udupi zilla panchayat president, Katapadi Shankar Poojary, taluk panchayat president, Devadas Hebbar, municipal president, Kiran Kumar, Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation chairman, Yashpal Suvarna, and a number of other party functionaries and leaders were present.
Rural BJP president, H Ratnakar Shetty, welcomed. MLA K Raghupati Bhat, delivered introductory address. Sudhir Kumar Shetty presented the programme. Prashant Salian Padukere proposed the vote of thanks.
