Mangaluru: Teachers Day celebration at Carmel School

Mangaluru, Sep 6: A special Assembly was held to celebrate educators on the occasion of Teachers Day on September 5.

The celebration started with paying respect to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – the second President of India who was a great academic philosopher and one of the most well-known diplomats, scholar and above all a teacher. Grade 8A Students under the able guidance of Kausalya, took their counselors, leaders, sociologists, builders to a realm of variety entertainment where they set aside their anxieties, tensions and worries of life . The propitious event commenced with a meaningful prayer service –praising and thanking God for the gifts of love, understanding , patience, eagerness, appreciation received from their Second Parents . The intentions were placed before God the Omnipotent, followed by blessing song.

“ Teacher : You are a Gift”—The food for thought was superbly highlighted through dances, skits and songs. The student council then honoured the teachers with gifts and with variety of games to make the day a memorable one for them. Margaret and Karunakar the chief guests of the day expressed heartfelt gratitude to the flowers of Carmel for organizing such an enticing and zestful event. Sr Sarika in her presidential address appreciated the unwavering commitment and the difference Teachers make in the lives of their students.

There was a surprise visit from the Joyalukkas Team who greeted the staff and celebrated the Teachers’ Day with the cutting of the cake.

Sister Sarika the principal, Sister Violette administrator. Sister Preena –vice principal, Sister Shanthi Laveena shouldered the entire responsibility with bubbling enthusiasm and enhanced the joy of the teachers. Healthy breakfast and sumptuous lunch was served

Fathima Shaziya and Fathima Arafa compered the programme. Sanjana S welcomed the gathering and Hridhya A Raveendran proposed the vote of thanks.
