Mangaluru: Senior Citizen Day observed at Carmel School

Mangaluru, Aug 29: Senior Citizen Day was celebrated on August 27 in the school auditorium that provided the audience an opportunity to manifest their appreciation for the dedication, accomplishments and services rendered by the elders throughout their lives.

The wealth of knowledge, skill and experience of senior citizens was well emblematized in the play entitled ‘Elders are Treasure Trove of Cool Stories', comprising of prayer service and grandparents narrating stories spotlighting on behavioral values, anecdotes on spiritual and moral values, fables on personal values and entertainment dance. It was indeed a unique presentation.

Sr Preena, vice principal, in her thought provoking message reiterated the ways to honour and respect elders. Each step was well marinated with the right measure of select quotes and vignettes that invited personality growth and attitudinal changes. Sahitya and Sania of Grade 8C compered the programme.
