Bahrain, Aug 29: Indian Social Forum Karnataka unit celebrated the Independence Day of India ‘Azadi Ke Amrath Mahotsav’ by means of ‘Family Fest’ at Salmabad Al Hilal hospital auditorium here.
The programme that started at 5 pm had fancy dresses by children, songs, and quiz for couples, Balloon games and several other cultural activities.
Indian Social Forum central committee joint secretary Aboobacker Siddik explained by means of short film the activities of the forum during the last two years especially during the Covid pandemic.
Indian Social Forum central committee chief secretary Rafik Abbas who inaugurated the hall programme, called on everybody to participate in the social and cultural programmes being conducted by the forum without discrimination of religion, caste and creed. The forum’s Karnataka state president Irfan Abdul Rehman presided over the programme.
Pradeep Shetty, chief guest and president of Kannada Sangha Bahrain commended the activities of the forum, conveyed his best wishes and assured the support of Kannada sangha in all the cultural activities of the forum. Social activist Amarnath Rai and Mohammed Hafiz addressed the gathering.
Indian Social Forum Karnataka unit secretary Mohammed Nazeem welcomed. Committee member Mohammed Siraj Kannangar compered the programme. State committee member Mohammed Asif rendered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded after singing the national anthem.
