Mangaluru, Aug 25: Preparations are in full swing by the district administration to receive Prime Minsiter (PM) Narendra Modi, who will be visiting the city on September 2.
Extensive arrangements are made for the public convention at Gold Finch city grounds. PM Modi inaugurate first indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant at Cochin Shipyard and arrive to Bajpe airport at 3.15 pm by special flight. He will fly to NMPT in helicopter, inaugurate works costing Rs 1,200 crore and also lay foundation to various works of Sagarmala scheme.
At 4 pm, Modi will address a public meeting at Gold Finch grounds at Kulur and leave for New Delhi via international airport at 5 pm.
BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Dr Bharath Shetty and Vedavyas Kamath, deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, NMPA president Dr A V Ramana, assistant commissioner Madanmohan, Magaluru City Corporation commissioner Akshy Sridhar and officials visited the grounds on Wednesday. The administration is mulling of putting tin sheet roof in the wake of the rains that are prevailing in the city for thousands to people to sit.
A meeting will be held at Netravati auditorium of zilla panchayat on August 25 to discuss about the preparations in the wake of PM’s visit on September 2.
BJP has decided to utilize the visit of PM Modi for election campaigning purpose and that is why public meeting is being organized where more than one lac people are expected to arrive from different parts of twin districts.
Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, cabinet ministers, union ministers, top brasses and leaders of units in the forefront of the party will also participate in the meeting.
