Udupi: Three-day Summer Camp in Mount Rosary, Kallianpur Begins

Udupi, Apr 14: The parish children of Mount Rosary have reason to enjoy this summer as three-day long summer camp filled with fun and thrill was inaugurated at the school in Kallianpur here on Thursday April 15 in the millennium hall for the students from std V to X.

The inauguration of the event was held by lighting the lamp by parish council vice-president Jerry Vincent Dias who addressed the children with speech providing abundant nourishment about the need of our own parish children’s interaction and communication as one family.

Dr Ambedkar Jayanthi was observed during the occasion. A garland of honour was offered to the portrait of Dr Ambedkar by Jerry Vincent Dias.

Physical director of Mount rosary high schoo Nagraj along with nuns from the institute, parish priest, Deacon Dominic Lobo and some parish members participated with respect by paying tribute.

Fr Philip Nery Aranha explained briefly the biography of father of Indian Constitution and stressed Dr Ambedkar should be honoured for his significant contribution in drafting the Indian Constitution, which came into force on January 26, 1950.

The morning session of summer camp began with exciting games conducted by Br Deacon Dominic Lobo. St Antony ward head Richard Dsouza, Rocky Olivera, Clary, Cynthia, Mariette, Veera, Jyothi Sr Nathali and Melony were present.

Fr Philip Neri Aranha, parish priest established the relation among the parish community’s youth by orchestrating such event that bonds the parish children.
