Moodbidri, Mar 30: Srikant (23), a final year BAMS student of the medical college here, ended his life by hanging himself in his hostel room on Tuesday March 29.
Srikant, son of Gopalakrishna from Kottayam, Kerala, was put up at the college hostel near Swaraj Maidan here. His roommate had left for his native place after the examinations. He had returned to the room on Tuesday for throwing a party for his close friends. However, he found Srikant hanging from the room’s fan, by using his lungi.
It is gathered that Srikant was not good at studies, and he was yet to clear some earlier examinations. He also had shortage of attendance. It is suspected that he was consternated at the fact that his classmates had completed their degree examinations, and that he was yet to pass in a number of subjects.
The policemen have registered a case. Investigation is on.
