Mumbai, (RBI) Jan 3: Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta paid a courtesy visit to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital on Friday.
Drawing his attention to various concerns pertaining to security and development of the region, he submitted a letter seeking among others the establishment of an NIA centre in Mangaluru, the upgrading of banking and fisheries infrastructure, and the enhancement of railway and roadway connectivity between Mangaluru and Bengaluru.
These initiatives, if addressed, would significantly contribute to the region’s security, economic prosperity, and sustainable development, said Captain Brijesh Chowta in the letter.
“It is a wonderful start to 2025 to have had an opportunity to meet our Home Minister Amit Shah today. Have drawn his attention to various issues of our region including the completion of the Coast Guard Academy, Fisheries and Cooperatives as well as sought his guidance to work for the party, state and our people in the coming days” said Captain Brijesh Chowta, about the meeting.
He also presented union minister a large portrait of Tulunadu’s popular buffalo bull race Kambala. Captain Brijesh Chowta has been spearheading the conduct of the recently held Mangaluru Kambala in the city for the last 8 years.
