Mangaluru, Jul 15: Sea buoy, which is kept as direction sign for ships entering NMPT at Panambur at the break water got washed away due to high waves.
The rope of the sea buoy got cut due to violent and high waves and it got carried away by the waves to the beach at Hosabettu all the way from Panambur port entrance.
The sea buoy which is coloured yellow for ships to know the break water entrance area from a long distance, is made of iron. It is fastened firmly and kept on the sea. As it will not get damaged, it can be reused.
Now the sea buoy will have to be taken back to NMPT break water entrance area and placed again at the same spot.
