Mumbai, Jan 30: The Pejawar Math in Prabhat Colony, Santacruz East, Mumbai, observed the auspicious occasion of Sri Purandaradasa Aradhana on Wednesday with a collective recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana. Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji, the head of Udupi Sri Pejawar Adhokshaja Math, extended his blessings on the occasion.
In his message, Swamiji emphasized that Gorakshana (cow protection) is a fundamental duty of every human being. He stated that divine blessings are essential for its complete success and urged all temples, religious institutions, and organizations to conduct collective Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana as a spiritual practice. He appreciated that, following his directive, around 30 bhajana groups in Mumbai came together to perform the recitation at Pejawar Math, making the occasion even more significant. Swamiji wholeheartedly blessed all the devotees who participated in the event.
He further expressed his joy in seeing bhajana groups uniting at the Mumbai Math to pray for the well-being of cows and to eradicate lawlessness through divine intervention. He blessed all participants, stating that their prayers would contribute to the welfare of the world.
The event began with daily rituals and worship conducted at the Shilamaya Mandir within Pejawar Math by the temple priest, Ramachandra Samaga. The chief administrator of Pejawar Math’s Mumbai branch, Vidwan Dr Ramadas Upadhyaya Renjal, led the aradhana rituals and bestowed his blessings. Under the guidance of the Pejawar Math's Madhvesh Bhajana Mandali, a special bhajana session was held, with around 30 bhajana groups participating in the collective chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama.
Several distinguished scholars and priests, including Vidwan Kerwashe Hari Bhat Puttige, Niranjan Gogte, Purohitaru Pavankumar Annigeri, Praveen Joshi, Ramesh Bhat, Vishnuteertha Sali, Radhakrishna Bhat, Vasudev Rao, and N V Hebbar, took part in the religious proceedings. A large number of devotees were present, and Srinivasa Bhat Parel led the congregation in singing keertanas composed by Sri Purandaradasa.
